A day in the life:

Lately I have been coming up with small projects to make me smile, I wanted things I could look at every day. I had some brown lampshades, so I painted them and covered them in lace! just a little something that took no time at all, and makes me smile every time I see them!
Next up we have my succulents, they hang out on my dresser, so I see them every day when I get ready, it was super easy to put together, and pretty low maintenance too!
I didn't want to over crowd my planter, so I threw this guy in one of my (many, many, many) tea cups! I find this especially sweet, because of the personal mementos placed around it!
I am not entirely sure if I have talked very much about my dog before, but I figured I would take some extra time in this post. My boy turned four this week, and on June sixth I will have had him for four years! (fun fact: I found him the day right before my birthday!)
He is my favorite, I am so lucky to share my time with him, and he is cray fluffy and adorable to boot!

I hope every one is having a beautiful week!

Smitten Little Kitten

This past week was my birthday week, and I want to thank everyone who made my birthday special. I truly love you guys.
I went garage sale hunting, and met the lovely Rachel Denbow (smileandwave link on the side) and walked away with this beauty:
The two fabrics under neath it are going to be table clothes, or pillow fabric for the living space.

I also got a lovely purse and shorts and dress this week:

I hung out with Jenna and we rocked our wide brim hats!

This was my birthday outfit! I even fixed my hair!
We had a birthday dinner at Maggiano's
I went to a family friend's vintage tea party birthday shower and this hankie was a favor. I am in LOVE!

Have a wonderful week darlings!

Chicken soup is good for the soul:

This week I've been a bit down, so I headed to (one of) the local goodwill. The plate used to have a matching Tea cup for holding make up brushes and such. It, ahem. broke in the unfortunate tea cup massacre of 2012. (I kid, my pup knocked it down) so I needed to replace it. This chicken soup bowl/cup/drinkthing (scientific name) now holds the Make up, and the brushes. perfect.
Thrifting it the fastest way to cheer me up.

Have a beautiful day darlings.

Sunshine Yellow.

My room before was full of brown, gold and red. It was beautiful, but way too dark! So what did I do? I hit up some garage sales of course!
Here is what I found:
Two Hankies, one print from Elsie Larson, Vintage Fabric, a cake holder and a pillow case, not to mention that beautiful chair. The best part? It was all under 15 dollars.

My mom had this gorgeous vintage fabric that I decided to turn into a comforter.

How could I pass that up?
So now for the finished project!

So I took the chalk board I made and one hankie and hung them up and used the vintage fabric as curtains.

The Elsie Larson print and a necklace I thrifted forever ago, and one of my mom's doilies created this look by the window.

The chair and the bed compliment each other very well, and part of my key collection is up on the wall.
Last but not least the cake holder and some of my teacups!

And that is how I completely changed my room for under fifteen dollars.

Starting Anew

The past few weeks have been hectic for sure, Mostly because of working on projects and redecorating my room.
My first project was making a chalk board for my room, I chose a bright and sunny blue color,  and a wooden owl cutout!
Pretty huh? I just stopped by the local Michaels, picked out the wooden cutout I wanted and found an awesome chalk board paint (Martha Stewart's). I originally wanted to make my own paint, but I fell in love with the color.

Then I redecorated my bathroom with a lovely pink floral print:
Later I'll update with some pictures of my vintage finds, and revamped bedroom!
